Raw Juice & Recipes

Metabolism Buster

4 cups Parsley
1 Jalapeno Pepper (de-seeded if you don't like it spicy)
1 inch Fresh Ginger Root
2 large English Cucumbers
1 large Romaine Head Lettuce
1 Lemon or Lime (organic please)

You can Juice this (most effective) or you can blend it. This makes over a liter of juice. This recipe is for one person, so if you make it for two people, double the recipe. If you can't drink all of it at once, then I suggest you store the rest in the refrigerator with an air tight lid, but not more than 3 hours.

If you need to store it longer, you can freeze it in mason jars. When you want to use it, take it out of the freezer the night before.

This is a VERY powerful tonic to help speed up your metabolism. Those who drink one liter of this tonic daily will notice a huge difference in their appearance, weight, skin and energy levels if consumed for 30 days, daily. Even as little as two weeks.

It's good at stripping the weight off, as well as purifying your blood.

'Low and Slow' Kale Chips' from The Momma Stuff Blog

Ingredients:
*1/2 bunch of kale
*Grapeseed or Olive oil
*Sea Salt

Directions:
Preheat oven to 250F.
*Place the kale upside down and separate the leafy greens from the central rib.

*Tear the leafy greens into bite size pieces and place on a cookie sheet.

*Sprinkle greens with oil and toss until all the pieces are lightly coated.

*Sprinkle oiled greens with sea salt and toss the greens again then spread out evenly on the baking sheet. For best results minimize overlap of kale.

*Bake for 20 minutes or until greens are light and crispy, if the greens start to turn a light brown colour they are burning, remove them from the oven immediately.

Fresh Homemade all Natural Lemonade

*5 lemons
*Stevia Extract
*Water/Ice

This recipe really doesn't have specific amounts of ingredients as it's all based on taste and the size of cup you are using.  I like to use 5 lemons as it allows us to have several pretty large glasses of Lemonade.  If you have a citrus juicer you'll be able to get all the juice out of your lemons, if not, you might find you need more lemons to get the same amount of juice.....

Juice all Lemons into a cup - with a citrus juicer I get about 1/2 cup of juice
Fill your drinking cup with ice and water almost to the top (I use a large glass, about 20 oz)
Add your stevia or other natural sweetener (I usually start with 2 packets and go from there)
Add lemon juice sparingly**

**fresh lemon juice is potent so you'll want to add the juice a little at a time and taste until it's where you like it.

Add a little, taste it - continue to add your juice and/or stevia until it's as sweet and lemony as you like!  Very easy and a crowd pleaser!

UPDATE 2/11/12

I recently watched the film "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" which has inspired me to get back to juicing. It's a great film that documents the journey of Joe Cross who was 100 lbs overweight and went on a juicing cleanse. He documented his journey and how he helped others do the same. He very quickly lost his weight and have now created a program called "reboot your life". The following link will give you access to that program as well as tons of juice recipes to use - enjoy and definitely share if you try any of these juices!
NOTE, I am not doing the reboot program but am juicing and using these recipes.
